Wheelers! Here is a great FREE program that many of you might find FUN! Summer is here and our ocean is awaiting you! Thank you Park and Recreation Services for giving this adventure to our disabled folks!

The location is at Mission Beach, Belmont Park. There is an office attached to the main lifeguard station. You can call 619-980-1876 to make an appointment to use a beach wheelchair.

Commemorating 10th Anniversary in September of Wheelchair Dancers Nonprofit founded by Beverly Weurding, an old Flag was Retired in our name respectfully and by the rules by Boy Scout Troop 365 in Lakeside.

“San Diego’s Got Talent” presented the closing number of “Hero” danced by Yolanda Zaldivar and Dorothy Howard in memory of their always smiling and dancing Wheelchair friend Ed Gerber.

You Make Me Feel So Young – Beverly Weurding and Jason Rivers

Beverly Weurding our Founder was one of the finalists in the LEAD Visionary Awards on June 14, 2018.  She was interviewed by Lynda Martin, KOGO News Morning Anchor. Board member Catie Somers accompanied Beverly, our amazing ambassador, for our  Wheelchairdancers Dancers Organization! This was made possible when Beverly Weurding was presented with the “The 10 News Leadership Award” at our War Memorial dance practice earlier this year.

Memorial Day Party Bash at Bankers Hill Club. Sponsored by a partnership between Bankers Hill Club and our own Wheelchair Dancers Organization. Entertainment by Wheelchair Dancers’ dance performances and interactive Billy Blanks DIO Fitness format led by Michele Jones, master trainer, with Gary Jones, Karma LaDonna and five year old Grace! Full house and array of dances! Those in wheelchairs had fun whether at their tables moving their arms or on the dance floor rolling and waving gestures for a Great Memorial Day dance adventure!

Thanks to Lead Dance Instructor Jason Rivers for superior choreography of all dances and to Karma LaDonna for helping Michele Jones with the DIO teaching of the wheelchair portion of DIO Fitness Class and performance.

Enjoy thia historical video of the beginning of Bankers Hill Club which was originally a club for shut-ins but now is a club for those with various disabilities including those in wheelchairs that embrace their busy lives.  Wheelchair Dancers Organization is bringing to the table the spirit of believing that “Everyone Can Dance” in their own special way with performances and partnership in some important events.

BIG BAND SOUNDS, June 30 @ 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm Bankers Hill Club will be well attended by our Wheelchair Dancers Organization who partner with Bankers Hill for many luncheons, dance performances and social events that will benefit both Wheelchair Dancers Organization and Bankers Hill Club. Two sessions will be held.
